Trail in the Clouds Dolní Morava
The Trail in the Clouds is a sightseeing tower made of wood and steel located above the village of Dolní Morava, near the Slaměnka chateau below the top of Slamník in the Králický Sněžník Massif. The structure was built at an altitude of 1116 meters above sea level and a wooden path with a total length of 710 meters leads to the top of the structure at a height of 55 meters above ground level. The tower is embedded 6.5 meters into the rock massif and can hold up to 4,000 people in good weather. At the top, the footbridge is suspended on steel beams with a total length of 600 meters. A total of 380 tonnes of steel, 300 m² of larch laminated timber and 250 m² of planed timbers were used for the construction. Larch comes from the Austrian Alps and grows at an altitude of over 1,000 meters above sea level.
KOFING manufactured and delivered all the supporting steel structures for the observation tower in 2015, including the anchor baskets and the 710-meter-long footbridge itself. This structure of the steel footbridge was successively manufactured, test-assembled, dismantled and transported to the site in sections, reaching a weight of almost 160 tons. The total weight of the steel parts delivered for the tower and the entrance building alone exceeded 380 tons of steel.
